Pounce

Oil on metal utility box, Pasley Park, SE17

Pounce is a permanent art installation and can be found at the entrance of Pasley Park, SE17

A leopard has been painted to reference the park’s history and the fact that it used to be a zoo. As with all of the BRICK paintings, it is important for the pieces to be interactive, so using trompe l’oeil techniques the utility box is blended into its metal fencing background – so that at first glance it seems as though the leopard appears ready to pounce!
